2. Server log files

When you open this site, the web server automatically records the data your browser sends:

An IP address is personal data. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is operating the server, delivering the site and defending against attacks. This data is not combined with other sources and is not evaluated for advertising or analytics.

When log files are rotated each night, the IP address is truncated: the last 8 bits for IPv4, the last 80 bits for IPv6. 93.184.216.34 becomes 93.184.216.0. After that it can no longer be linked to a specific person. Untruncated log data therefore exists for at most 24 hours.

The truncated log files no longer contain personal data and are kept indefinitely for debugging, for defending against attacks, and for access statistics.

3. Hosting

The site runs on a server I operate myself. No external hosting provider acts as a processor with access beyond running the server infrastructure.

4. Encryption

This site is served over TLS only. Requests to http:// are redirected to https://.

5. Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Your message is kept until the matter is settled and no statutory retention periods apply.

Email is received through Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited); message content is processed and stored there.

6. No cookies, no tracking

No cookies are set, no local storage is used, no tracking pixels are embedded and no profiles are built. There is therefore no cookie banner.

Please use the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the competent authority is the one for the German federal state where my business is registered.
